Nestled in the heart of Shawnigan Lake, Momoville offers an authentic taste of Nepalese cuisine that beckons food enthusiasts craving bold flavors and comforting dishes. This charming restaurant is a true hidden gem, where every plate is thoughtfully crafted from scratch using fresh, quality ingredients that bring the rich culinary traditions of Nepal to life.

Momoville's cuisine centers around the iconic momo dumplings, a must-try for anyone visiting. The momos here—whether pork, chicken, or beef—burst with savory fillings and are served with a perfectly balanced dipping sauce that elevates each bite. Customers consistently praise these dumplings, with one visitor describing them as "excellent" and another calling them packed with flavor. Beyond momos, the menu explores a variety of traditional favorites such as the Momo Cha, a warming noodle soup that comforts the soul, the Special Curry with its distinctive spice blend that deviates from the usual creamy texture, and the intriguingly robust Chwela Barbecued Spicy Meat with Beaten Rice, a textural delight reminiscent of oatmeal. These dishes invite guests to experience the mystical dance of Nepalese spices, where warmth, depth, and fragrant herbs coalesce beautifully.

The dining atmosphere at Momoville feels welcoming and intimate, echoing the warmth of a home-cooked meal. Friendly and attentive staff enhance this experience, making you feel like a part of a Nepalese celebration, whether you’re there on a quiet evening or during special occasions such as their vibrant New Year festivities. Authentic touches like homemade chai tea and desserts such as Kheer, Rasmalai, and Gulab Jamun offer the perfect sweet finales to an already memorable meal.

For those who enjoy a beverage with their meal, Momoville’s selection of beers, including Corona, Heineken, Stella, and local brews like Midnight Umber Ale and Laketown Lager, balance wonderfully with the spicy and savory dishes on offer. Whether you’re seeking a hearty soup like the pork momo soup praised for its soul-soothing warmth or the spicy potato side dish that tingles the palate, each bite at Momoville resonates with care, tradition, and an unmistakable passion for Nepalese cooking.

Momoville consistently earns high marks for both its food and hospitality. Diners have expressed a strong desire to return, eager to explore more of the menu’s rich offerings. If you’re in the Shawnigan Lake area and craving an authentic, flavor-forward experience that feels like a warm embrace from Nepal itself, Momoville is the place to be.

Momos are excellent! Tried the pork this time but definitely coming back to try the chicken and beef. Also got the special curry - it wasn’t as milky/creamy as other curries I’ve had but it was delicious.

We were lucky enough to visit during their New Year celebrations, and it made the experience even more special! The owners treated us to some local snacks, setting the perfect tone for an authentic feast. We went all in with Nepali dishes, and it did not disappoint—especially the cold chicken dish, which turned out to be an unexpectedly delicious snack. The momos were packed with flavor, and the homemade noodles in fresh broth were simply top-notch. What really stood out was the warmth and genuine hospitality of the family running this place. You could feel the love in every bite. And that incredible aroma drifting onto the street? It made stepping inside irresistible!

Been meaning to try this place for a while. We got the pork momos and special curry for takeout. The pork momos were delicious and satisfying, the sauce that comes with it is really nice. The special curry was also good but not as much of a standout. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Would like to go back and try more.
